Unlocking the hidden potential of our children has been the driving force behind the work of the Future Leaders Aftercare Program. Future Leaders Learning Center has provided after school academic enrichment activities, tutoring, mentoring and positive youth development for children and families in the City of Orlando. Here, children receive tutoring, mentoring and character building and the basics of human services.
Mighty works are being performed in the lives of young people at the Future Leaders Learning Center. We have seen remarkable growth in many of them, academically, socially and emotionally. We feel that these strong traits are having an influence and the discipline in their lives will help them to improve their quality of life and help them to become productive citizens instead of burdens on society. Our staff are skilled in their respected areas with over 30 years of educational experience. With Early Learning Coalition, DCF, Orange County Public Schools and The Council on Prevention and Education training. We are skilled to handle varieties of needs for our students. We have an 85 % success rate with our elementary students, most of which are honor roll. We stress attention to literacy with our weekly goals for spelling and reading achievement as well as mathematics goals. Our Aftercare /tutoring staff has had great success with our, High School Re-Connect and college prep programs:
Kathleen Silva – successful completion of IB high school program, National Honor Society, full scholarships to FAMU, UCF and USF, and Valencia College
Andre Davis Jr. – successful completion of FCAT program and ACT prep.
Akil Williams – successful completion of High- School Reconnect program
Anthony Gibson – successful completion of ACT prep, National Honor Society, Awarded Math honors
Jamari Smith – successfully completed ACT prep to receive scholarship to college of choice
Praizen Alexis – successful completion of IB high school program, scholarship to FAMU, UF
